FAQ About Kanberra

Kanberra Gel is an all-natural, proprietary blend of Tea Tree Oils and other essential oils. When used, Kanberra Gel allows the natural properties of the oils to become airborne through an evaporative release. Please refer to the Facts on Tea Tree Oil section for further information.

At the micro-biotic level, the air itself absorbs the pharmaceutical grade oils. As the air circulates Kanberra Gel begins eliminating odors. It does so naturally, with no chemicals. Most importantly, the use of Kanberra Gel acts as a preventive measure against odors returning for up to 30 days after there is no longer visible Gel in the container.

Kanberra Gel®, Kanberra Spray® and Kanberra Wipes®, and Kanberra Premium Soap only use Pure Australian Tea Tree Oil certified by ATTIA, Ltd. ATTIA (Australian Tea Tree Industry Association) is the Australian government approved industry body supporting the tea tree oil industry to enhance the production and uses of TTO. Kanberra products were the first water-based, alcohol-free air purifiers and surface cleaners to use Pure Australian Tea Tree Oil and we continue to utilize that standard for all our products.

The ATTIA has reported a growing number of products are using adulterated TTO – sometimes called synthetic or nature identical – and promoting it as pure. Such products use a mix of unknown chemicals from unidentified sources. Most often, no safety or efficacy testing is done on these mixtures. You can purchase Kanberra products with confidence knowing that you are receiving an all-natural product with the finest ingredients including Pure Australian Tea Tree Oil.

The beauty of Kanberra Gel is that it can be placed anywhere, so long as you have a flat surface. If you are a new user of the product it is recommended you follow our recommended usage modes:

Shock Mode (2-3 days) – Uncap the product and place it open without the diffuser lid.

Maintenance Mode (up to 30 days) – Place the diffuser lid on the container to slow overall evaporation.

Protection Mode (30 to 90 days) – The application area is effectively ‘clean’ and the product will now provide extended airborne protection against odors.

The dissipation rate for Kanberra Gel will vary based upon conditions. In typical applications, the Gel will take anywhere from 3 to 8 weeks to completely evaporate however it will have a residual effect for up to 30days. After this time, it is recommended to replace the Kanberra Gel, for it to continually offer protection. Various conditions will affect the dissipation rate. For example, if the Kanberra Gel is placed under a fan, the rate of evaporation will increase due to the increased air flow. In areas with heavy odors, like cigarette smoke or pet odors Kanberra Gel may evaporate faster. Once the original odors are addressed, the dissipation of Kanberra Gel should slow into what we call “Maintenance Mode”. Please refer to the Usage Chart for typical size to area recommendations. 

No. Kanberra containers are specially designed to withstand tea tree oil. Tea tree oil is an aggressive oil and will try to escape from its container. We only recommend use in Kanberra “Kontainers”.

While Kanberra Premium Soap has no perfumes or artificial scents, the Pure Australian Tea Tree Oil will clean the air as you lather, and you may smell the natural scent of the tea tree oil for a time after you are done using the product.

Wet your skin, apply soap. Heavy duty use: 2 pumps, medium use: 1 pump, light use: ½ pump. Work into a rich lather for 30 seconds, rinse well.

Kanberra Gel® is packaged in air-tight, drip-free containers with an inner seal and a lid with holes, and comes in 2 oz, 4 oz, 8 oz, 16 oz, and 32 oz jars. Also available in 24 oz refill pouches (your most economical option).

Kanberra Spray® is packaged in non-aerosol 2 fluid oz and 8 fluid oz. bottles. Larger refills are available in a 64 oz size.

Kanberra Wipes® are packaged in a convenient 30-count dispenser.

Kanberra Premium Soap is packaged in a small 2 oz travel size container, along with a convenient 7 oz pump bottle. Larger refills are available in a 56 oz size.
